Q8:Can you run a 120V heater on 12V?

You might also need to think about whether AC or DC is present. Any heater that contains a non-resistive component cannot operate in both AC and DC. For instance, a fan could simply be an AC.With the proper inverter and power rating, you can convert voltage and/or AC/DC, however heating from a 12V source is not really feasible because it would require such a high current. 

Q9:Is it safe to use my electric heater on a double plug connection lead?

Whatever the case, a heater is a particularly dangerous equipment because it frequently utilizes the maximum current permitted by the majority of residential electrical systems. When using an extension cable, it must be short (less than 8 feet), contain 12 or 14 gauge wires, and only have one plug receptacle at the appliance end. For the electricity to flow without overheating and starting a fire, a 14 gauge extension cable is quite thick and heavy. However, I strongly advise against using any extension cord, no matter how short. Even if you have to move things, always plug into the wall. Cheap brown and white extension cables with two wires visible and a groove or space between them are zip cords and inadequate for heaters.
