Product description

Extremely adaptable and long-lasting, High Watt Density Cartridge Heaters with Thermocouple is used to heat a variety of processes, including those in heavy industry, plastics and packaging, critical care medical devices, and analytical test equipment. They are also used on aircraft, rail cars, and trucks. With watt densities of up to 30 watts per square centimeter, High Watt Density Cartridge Heaters with Thermocouple can operate at temperatures of up to 800℃, they have a wide range of imperial and metric diameters, lengths, wattage, and voltage ratings, and can be ordered off the shelf or specially made to meet your specific application needs.

High Watt Density Cartridge Heaters with Thermocouple are an excellent choice to use as a conductive source for heating solid metal plates, blocks and dies or as a convective heat source for use in a variety of liquids and gases. High Watt Density Cartridge Heaters with Thermocouple can be used in a vacuum atmosphere with proper design guidelines.

Q9: How do I work a cartridge heater temperature controller (thermostat)?

Cartridge heaters are employed in heating applications, such as the heating of molds or solid metal blocks. Cartridge heaters are mostly used for process heating in the laboratory, food equipment, automotive, or industrial industries.

The best cartridge heater to choose will rely on a number of variables, including the required wattage, the voltage utilized, the heated length, the lead lengths and diameter, the maximum and ambient temperatures, and the time required to attain the maximum temperature.

Your application will determine your maximum wattage. Use only watt densities that are appropriate for your application and that adhere to safety margin limitations. When heating a metal block, a highly tight fit allows for effective heat transmission but makes installation and removal challenging.

For the heater to be removed, a hole that extends through the whole metal block is preferred. For medium watt densities, a straightforward drilling is adequate. However, drilling and reaming are both required for the hole in the metal block for applications requiring high watt densities.

Temperature must be sensed using a temperature sensor in order to be controlled. For applications using cartridge heaters, surface mount temperature sensors are an option. Place the sensor between the heater and the metal block's working surface.

The maximum permitted watt density is determined by a certain gap or distance. You must employ a power control for applications requiring high watt densities. On-off control and Thyristor-based power control are the two forms of power control accessible.
