The advantages and disadvantages of PTC heaters are:
(1) Due to the overall heating of PTC components without open flames, the material itself has the characteristic of automatic temperature regulation. After the Curie point, the PTC phenomenon causes a sharp increase in resistance, a sharp decrease in current, a decrease in power consumption, and no longer a rise in temperature, resulting in high safety in use.
(2) As the surrounding temperature changes, the heat generation will automatically adjust and there will be no ineffective power consumption.
(3) It is minimally affected by changes in power supply voltage. Experiments have shown that the power supply voltage does not affect the heating of PTC components even when the voltage changes significantly.
(4) Heat regulation is very easy. Due to the fact that the heating power of the PTC heater is related to the exothermic coefficient D, which depends on the shape, structure, size, and heat dissipation conditions of the PTC element, the exothermic coefficient D can be continuously adjusted, allowing for continuous control of heating.
(5) The temperature rise hysteresis of PTC components is small, and the process from power on to stability is relatively fast.
(6) Existing problem: PTC components have low thermal conductivity, so the electric field strength added to the material should not be too high, and the Curie point temperature should not be too high.
