Advantages of Controlled Atmosphere Multi-Purpose Furnaces and Utilization of Waste Heat from Waste Gas Combustion
The past decade has witnessed the Chinese heat treatment industry entering a new era of revolution. Heat treatment manufacturers at all levels are no longer able to meet the technical and quality requirements of modern products, and are therefore upgrading their equipment. Since 2000, over a hundred multi-purpose furnaces have been sold nationwide each year, and currently, there are over a thousand multi-purpose furnaces in use on the market.
1. Waste Gas Incineration is a Waste of Resources
Nitriding Multi-Purpose Furnace
Each multi-purpose furnace has an exhaust gas discharge device and an exhaust gas burner. The exhaust gas discharge device discharges the exhaust gas that is replaced by fresh air in the furnace, while the ignition burner fully combusts the discharged exhaust gas (primarily CO + H₂) into CO₂ + H₂O), preventing atmospheric pollution and the risk of combustion and explosion. While this technology solves the problem of polluting emissions, few units utilize the heat from the burners and exhaust gases generated over time. Instead, the heat is directly discharged into the atmosphere, which accumulates over time and represents a significant energy waste.
Controlled atmosphere multi-purpose furnaces are increasingly common in developed coastal cities, particularly in the automotive industry. After carburizing and quenching in multi-purpose furnaces, the gears and shafts of automotive transmissions achieve deep structures, deep carbon concentration gradients, and core structures that cannot be replicated in conventional pit-type carburizing furnaces.
1. After setting the program for a controlled atmosphere multi-purpose furnace, workers only need to install the furnace (paying attention to clearance during installation), adjust the program number, and the equipment will automatically control heating, holding, and carbon potential. The holding time is automatically controlled based on the depth of the carbon layer, and the cooling process is automatically completed after the time is up.
2. The quenching oil used in controlled atmosphere multi-purpose furnaces is generally a rapid brightening quenching oil. After quenching, the carburized layer structure and core structure meet the design requirements and have a good brightening effect.
3. The equipment has a coordinated maintenance function. If any fault occurs, coordinated maintenance will be activated, and the fault location will be displayed on the display for easy identification. This ensures a long service life for the equipment's electrical components and a low failure rate.
