Analysis of the causes of cartridge heater

When a cartridge heater bursts, the metal outer wall of the heater breaks once power is turned on. This harm can't be fixed, therefore you should do everything you can to avoid it.
We have tried to figure out what causes cartridge heaters to burst after doing a lot of research and gathering data:
1. Problems with the design. If the cartridge heater's power design is too high, the temperature inside the heater rises quickly and is very high, which makes the heater expand. The metal outside heater gets too heavy on the surface, which makes it expand and split.
2. Problems with the material, which is the metal heater itself. The tube may not be able to handle enough pressure if the material is of poor quality, the walls are too thin, or the material itself can't handle high temperatures.
3. Problems with the material, such magnesium oxide powder. A powder called magnesium oxide is spread out between the heating wire and the wall of the heating tube. It is used to conduct heat and insulate. It is one of the most crucial parts of the cartridge heater. If the magnesium oxide powder isn't pure enough, has too many impurities, or has too much moisture in it, heat might build up in one part of the tube, making it hard for heat to escape. If this goes too far, the tube can break.
4. Defect in manufacturing: poor sealing. The seal on the heating element was not put on correctly, which let moisture in from the outside. This happens when high voltage and current flow through, which causes a short circuit and breakdown, which breaks the tube.
5. Manufacturing Defect – Problems with processing the tube diameter. This only applies to heating elements used to heat molds. If the space between the heating element and the mold hole is too big, heat can't be delivered to the mold properly. This means that the mold will be heated continuously, which is very dangerous.
6. Problems with Use: Damage to the tube wall from hits, bad storage, utilizing a voltage that is much higher than the rated voltage, and wrong wiring are all common reasons.
7. Problems with use: too many impurities in the liquid. This only applies to heating elements that are used to heat liquids. When there are too many contaminants in the liquid, they will stick to the heating element's surface (like scale), which will stop heat from moving around and break the tube.
So, how can we keep electric heating elements from breaking?
1. The user can't control problems with the design of the product, the materials used, or the way it is made. But consumers can choose electric heating element manufacturers who are qualified and have a lot of experience. They can then trust these teams to take care of these "invisible" problems.
2. Only use the heating element at the rated voltage and with the right connections. Keep it in a dry location. If you haven't used your cartridge heaters in a while, start with a low voltage and slowly raise the working voltage.
3. To reduce contaminants in the water used in cartridge heaters for heating liquids, either enhance the water quality or clean the heating tube periodically.
4. Heating tubes are something that you use up. Users should check for any dangers on a regular basis and do routine maintenance and replacement of the core heating parts.
