Anti-fuel corrosion and wear performance of vacuum electroplating electric heating pipe

Anti-fuel corrosion and wear performance of vacuum electroplating electric heating pipe

With the use of new energy fuels, the use of mixed fuels of ethanol and gasoline has become more and more extensive, but the use of mixed fuels still has the problem of fuel system corrosion, which must be solved by electroless nickel plating.

The automotive industry takes advantage of the very uniform electroless nickel layer to protect parts with complex shapes, such as gears, radiators and fuel injectors. The aluminum heat sink plated with an electroless nickel layer of about 10um has good brazing properties. After chemical plating on the gear, the dimensional error is very easy to keep within ±0.3 ~ 0.5um. If the plastic electroplating process is used, it must be machined after plating to reach the qualified tolerance range.

The electroless nickel coating used on the fuel injector can provide good resistance to fuel corrosion and wear. Usually, fuel corrosion and wear will lead to the expansion of the injection hole, so the injection volume will increase, so that the horsepower of the car engine exceeds the design standard, and the damage of the engine is accelerated. The electroless nickel plating layer can effectively prevent the corrosion and wear of the fuel injector and improve the reliability and service life of the engine.

Not all plastics can be electroplated

Plastic electroplating is a common surface treatment process at present. There are many types of plastics, but not all plastics can be electroplated. Some plastics and metal layers have poor bonding force and have no practical value; some physical properties such as expansion coefficients of some plastics and metal coatings are too different to ensure their performance in high temperature environments. At present, the most used plastic plating is ABS, followed by PP. In addition, PSF, PC, PTFE, etc. also have successful electroplating methods, but they are more difficult.

With the rapid development of the industry, the application of plastic electroplating is becoming more and more extensive, and it has become one of the important means of surface decoration in plastic products. At present, it has been widely used in ABS, polypropylene, polysulfone, polycarbonate, nylon, phenolic glass fiber reinforced at home and abroad. Electroplating is carried out on the surface of plastics, polystyrene and other plastics, among which ABS plastic electroplating is the most widely used and has the best electroplating effect.
