Thermocouples, also known as thermocouples, are one of the earliest thermoelectric detection devices. The principle of its task is the thermoelectric effect.
For example, a junction formed by two different conductor materials can generate electromotive force at the junction. The magnitude and bias of this electromotive force are related to the properties of the two different conductor materials at the junction and the temperature difference between the two junctions. If these two different conductor materials are connected into a circuit, when there is a temperature difference between the two discussion points, a current occurs in the circuit. This phenomenon is called thermoelectric effect or Seebeck effect.
The material that forms a thermocouple can be either metal or semiconductor. In terms of structure, it can be a solid line or strip, or a thin film made using vacuum deposition or photolithography techniques.
Solid type thermocouples are commonly used for temperature measurement, while thin-film thermocouples (composed of multiple thermocouples connected in series) are commonly used for measuring radiation, such as calibrating various light sources, measuring various radiation levels, and serving as radiation receiving elements for infrared spectrophotometers or spectrometers.
In a circuit, a closed circuit with a temperature difference between two points is called a thermocouple circuit.
Thermocouple circuits are capable of measuring temperature and can also serve as sensors. When the external temperature changes, some control can be stopped. For example, controlling water temperature, air temperature, etc.
