Battery temperature sensor

As the energy density of lithium batteries increases and the safety margin decreases, the core issue is to understand the temperature of individual lithium battery cells. In fact, we now know that the selection of most battery abuse tests is temperature dependent, and the conditions vary depending on the temperature. We need to use a temperature sensor to obtain the temperature point in the battery (K-type thermocouple)
Obtain conditions for cooling and opening up
Conditions for obtaining limited power (fast charging, especially)
Get stop output (zero current output)
Precursory detection of extreme heat events
The battery module is mainly composed of multiple battery cells. Through reasonable module design, the temperature of the entire module's battery and cells can be obtained through a limited number of sampling points. During normal operation, the temperature of the battery cells is uniform, but in case of abnormal battery conditions, there will be a significant temperature difference in the battery.
The location of the temperature sensor here includes:
Battery surface
Battery busbar
Surface of battery cover plate
In order to configure within the module, it is necessary to consider the temperature collection of the core and the temperature condition of the busbar. The overall temperature of the module is monitored at several collection points, and the temperature data is collected by the battery management unit to estimate the overall temperature condition of the module. This is mainly due to the need to compare and process the actual battery temperature and sensor feedback under different working conditions.
Don't look at anything else, not only does the temperature error vary due to the circuit, but the surface heat transfer situation also varies, which is worth carefully comparing after collecting different data.
The cost, accuracy, temperature range, rapid thermal response, and self heating error of temperature sensors must be comprehensively considered. Considering high-end vehicles, especially considering high performance and high rate charging
The heating generated by the acceleration response of electricity requires a temperature sensor with low thermal hysteresis. Otherwise, the periodic changes in temperature cannot be measured.
Another major issue is that the operating temperature range and detection status of the temperature sensor mentioned earlier exceed a certain range. When the temperature exceeds the usual 85 ° C, the traditional circuit collects excessive partial voltage values, making the temperature invalid. Therefore, obtaining temperature data at the edge of thermal runaway requires several conditions to be met (pt1000)
There must be an adjustable voltage divider resistor
The temperature sensors that must be selected should be integrated into the higher operating temperature range
Must have a different detection principle on the mobile software
Temperature coordination measures must be adopted
