Classification of Surface Treatment Techniques for Electroplated Metal Materials of Electric Heating Tubes
According to the different methods used, surface treatment techniques can be divided into the following categories.
Electrochemical method
This method utilizes electrode reactions to form a coating on the surface of the workpiece. The main methods are:
(1) Electroplating
In an electrolyte solution, the process of forming a coating on the surface of a workpiece as a cathode under the action of an external current is called electroplating. The coating can be metal, alloy, semiconductor or containing various solid particles, such as copper plating, nickel plating, etc.
(2) Oxidation
In an electrolyte solution, the workpiece is an anode, and the process of forming an oxide film on its surface under the action of external current is called anodizing, such as the anodizing of aluminum alloys.
Chemical or electrochemical methods can be used for the oxidation treatment of steel. The chemical method involves placing the workpiece in an oxidation solution and relying on chemical action to form an oxide film on the surface of the workpiece, such as the blue treatment of steel.
chemical method
This method involves the formation of a coating layer on the surface of the workpiece through the interaction of chemical substances without the action of current. The main methods are:
(1) Chemical conversion membrane treatment
In an electrolyte solution, the process of forming a coating on the surface of a metal workpiece by the interaction of chemicals in the solution with the workpiece without external current is called chemical conversion film treatment. Such as blueing, phosphating, passivation, and chromating of metal surfaces.
(2) Chemical plating
In an electrolyte solution, the surface of the workpiece undergoes catalytic treatment without external current action. In the solution, due to the reduction effect of chemical substances, certain substances are deposited on the surface of the workpiece to form a coating, which is called chemical plating, such as chemical nickel plating, chemical copper plating, etc.
