Common faults of plastic extruders
1, Classification of Plastic Extruder Malfunctions
Plastic extruder failures are diverse and can be classified from different perspectives.
1. According to the fault occurrence status, it can be divided into:
(1) Gradual malfunction. It is caused by the gradual deterioration of the initial performance of plastic extruders, and most of the failures of plastic extruders belong to this type of failure. This type of malfunction is closely related to the wear, corrosion, fatigue, and creep processes of electronic control and mechanical components.
(2) Sudden malfunction. It is caused by various unfavorable factors and occasional external influences, which exceed the limit that plastic extruders can withstand. For example, the screw may break due to overload caused by the entry of iron into the material cylinder; Penetrating the electronic board of the plastic extruder due to high voltage input. This type of malfunction often occurs suddenly without any prior warning. Sudden failures often occur during the use of plastic extruders, often due to defects in design, manufacturing, assembly, and materials, or operational errors or illegal operations.
2. According to the nature of the fault, it can be divided into:
(1) Intermittent faults. The plastic extruder loses some of its functions in a short period of time, which can be restored with a little repair and debugging, without the need to replace parts.
(2) Long term malfunction. Some parts of the plastic extruder are damaged and need to be replaced or repaired to restore use.
3. According to the degree of impact of the malfunction, it can be divided into:
(1) Functional malfunction. Causing the plastic extruder to lose its function.
(2) Localized malfunction. Causing the loss of certain functions of the plastic extruder
4. According to the cause of the malfunction, it can be divided into:
(1) Wear and tear fault. Malfunction caused by normal wear and tear of the plastic extruder.
(2) Misuse malfunction. Malfunctions caused by operational errors and improper maintenance.
(3) Inherent weaknesses and faults. Due to design issues, the plastic extruder has weak links and malfunctions during normal use.
5. According to the danger level of the malfunction, it can be divided into:
(1) Dangerous malfunction. For example, the protection system loses its protective function due to malfunction when it needs to be activated, causing personal injury and plastic extruder failure; Malfunctions caused by hydraulic and electrical control system failure.
(2) Functional malfunction. For example, the protection system takes action when no action is required; The malfunction of starting the plastic extruder when it cannot be started.
6. According to the occurrence and development rules of plastic extruder failures, they can be divided into:;
(1) Random malfunction. The timing of the malfunction is random.
(2) There is a rule malfunction. The occurrence of faults follows a regular pattern.
Each type of fault has its main characteristics, namely the so-called fault mode or fault state. The fault states of various plastic extruders are quite complex, but can be summarized as follows: abnormal vibration, mechanical wear, input signals that cannot be accepted by the microprocessor CPU, no output signal from the solenoid valve, mechanical component rupture, proportional linear imbalance, oil pump failure, gearbox noise, circuit aging, abnormal sound, oil quality deterioration, power supply voltage drop, no output from the amplifier board, temperature loss of control, and others. The proportion of various failure modes of different types of plastic extruders varies.
