Contact width of sealing surface:

Contact width of sealing surface:

The greater the contact width between the sealing surface and the gasket or packing, the longer the path through which the fluid leaks, and the greater the flow resistance loss, which is beneficial to sealing. But under the same pressing force, the greater the contact width, the smaller the seal specific pressure. Therefore, an appropriate contact width should be sought according to the material of the seal.

Material requirements for flange packing

The packing material selected for packing determines the sealing effect of packing. Generally speaking, packing materials are limited by the temperature, pressure and pH of the working medium, and the surface roughness and eccentricity of the mechanical equipment on which the packing works And line speed, etc., will also have requirements for the choice of packing material.
No matter the choice of packing material, it will have some basic material characteristics. Packing materials should have good chemical stability, temperature resistance and impermeability to adapt to most working media. At the same time, the packing material should have better elasticity and self-lubricating ability, and the packing material should be reasonably priced and easy to manufacture.

Influence of flange external conditions:

The vibration of the piping system, the deformation of the connecting components, the deviation of the installation position and other reasons will generate additional force on the seal, which will adversely affect the seal. In particular, vibration will cause periodic changes in the pressing force between the sealing surfaces, which will loosen the connecting bolts and cause sealing failure. The cause of vibration may be external, or it may be caused by fluid movement inside the system. To make the seal reliable, the above-mentioned factors must be carefully considered, and the manufacture and selection of gaskets and fillers are crucial.

Rotary shaft lip seal

Rotating shaft lip seals are usually called oil seals. They are widely used in gearboxes, drive axles and other parts of construction machinery, such as the front and rear output shafts of the gearbox, the final drive of the drive axle, and the wheel edge. The oil cavity is isolated from the outside, sealing oil inside and dustproof outside. At present, there are many types of oil seal structures widely used in China, and their basic structures include rubber sealing parts, metal skeletons or metal shells and metal springs.
