Electroplating of fluorine containing organosiloxane on electric heating tubes
The surface modification of polycarbonate (PC) using fluorinated organosiloxanes (FASs) (radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition method) was studied. It was found that compared with untreated PC, the hydrophobicity of PC treated with FASs was improved, and the contact angle with droplets reached 107 °. At the same time, they also found that the transparency of PC treated with FASs on the surface was further improved.
Atsushi Hovzumi et al. [11] used a two-layer coating method to improve the hydrophobicity of PC. The bottom layer was cured by ultraviolet light to apply acrylic resin to the surface of the PC matrix, and the surface coating was coated with polysiloxane and FASs using thermal curing method. The study found that its hydrophobicity was improved, and the contact angle decreased after heating in boiling water. However, after 60 minutes of heat treatment at 120 ℃, the contact angle returned to its original level.

JFFriedrich et al. [14] used plasma deposition and chemical deposition methods to form fluorinated coatings on the surfaces of PP and PET, and analyzed their fuel and solvent resistance. The solvents used for the test were pentane, toluene, tetrachloroethylene, and a mixture of pentane and methanol. The permeation of the mixed solvents was analyzed using mass spectrometry and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The penetration research results show that the solvent penetration resistance of PP modified by these two methods is almost the same (the coating thickness formed by plasma deposition method on the surface of PP is 10-100nm, while the coating thickness formed by chemical deposition method on the surface of PP is 5000nm).
