How long does Fluke hot runner calibration take?

The equipment brand itself has little bearing on the total time required for Fluke hot runner calibration; instead, it depends on the calibration technique. The following is the overall time range:

1. One hot runner sensor is calibrated on-site:

The entire process takes about 20 to 30 minutes, from setup to calibration adjustment completion:

It takes ten to fifteen minutes to machine test holes and install sensors.

Five to ten minutes for heating and maintaining thermal balance

Three to five minutes for data collection and compensation coefficient adjustment

2. Multi-cavity hot runners (up to 8 cavities) batch calibration:

The entire process takes around one to one and a half hours. Each hot runner can be examined and calibrated separately once it has stabilized at a single temperature. Because batch calibration requires fewer heating cycles than single-cavity calibration, it saves time.

3. Traceability calibration in metrology laboratories (including standard thermocouple verification):

It takes around 4–8 hours to complete the traceability calibration of the hot runner using standard thermocouples, including stabilization in a constant temperature bath and data output. This is mostly because stabilization in a constant temperature environment takes longer.

Extra details: Fluke equipment doesn't require additional calibration time because it is very accurate and reads data fast.
