How Long Does Hot Runner Sensor Lifetime Testing Typically Take?

Depending on the type of test, testing times vary significantly. Simplified factory sampling inspection requires just one day, but standard full-process testing takes two to four weeks. In particular:

Standard R&D/Type Testing (Complete Process): High-end hot runner sensors require 1000–1500 cycles, each lasting 20 minutes (10 minutes for heating and holding plus 10 minutes for cooling and holding), for a total of 14–21 days (2–3 weeks), in accordance with industry standards. 500 cycles for standard sensors require 7–10 days (1–1.5 weeks). Preparation and post-testing will add another two to three days to the total time.

Simplified Factory Sampling Inspection: Just fifty quick cycles are carried out. This can be finished the same day, including preparation and calibration, cutting down on lengthy wait periods and speeding up the identification of faulty products with manufacturing flaws.

Third-party authority certification testing: This takes three to five days longer than ordinary testing and necessitates additional data calibration and report preparation procedures. The results are usually available in three to four weeks.
