How significant is the low-pass filtering effect of the distributed capacitance of hot runner conductors?

From the above examination of the source and practical implications of the low-pass filtering effect of the distributed capacitance of hot runner conductors, it becomes apparent that the strength of this effect is not constant and is mainly dependent on the conductor layout and the operational parameters of the hot runner:

Conventional mass produced hot runners: Conductor length 2-5m, distributed capacitance ~ 100-300 pF, equivalent to low pass filter cutoff frequency ~100-300 kHz. This only filters out the interference of the high frequency electromagnetic signal and has little meaningful impact on the power frequency signal of the temperature control system.

Large multi-zone hot runners: Conductor length exceeds 10 meters, the closely packed and distributed capacitance can approach 500-1000 pF. The low-pass filter's cutoff frequency decreases to 30-100kHz, which results in a large lag between the temperature sampling signal and the temperature control signal, and temperature control overshoot.

High temperature aging hot runner: As the insulation layer of the conductor ages, its dielectric constant increases, the dispersed capacitance increases more, and the low-pass filtering effect will be further strengthened. In extreme circumstances the temperature control reaction can lag by several seconds, considerably increasing the risk of thermal shock cracking.
