1. How to calculate the sensitivity of thermocouples
The sensitivity of a thermocouple refers to the magnitude of the change in the output electromotive force under temperature changes. A thermocouple is an electric dipole composed of two different metals, which generates a thermoelectric effect and an electromotive force under the action of temperature difference. The sensitivity of thermocouples is related to the characteristics of their materials. So how do we solve for the sensitivity of thermocouples?

Firstly, the sensitivity of a thermocouple can be obtained by measuring the variation of the output electromotive force with temperature. By changing the temperature difference, different output electromotive force values can be obtained, thereby calculating sensitivity.

Secondly, based on the principle of thermoelectric effect of thermocouples, the sensitivity of thermocouples can be calculated using the following formula:

Sensitivity= Δ E/ Δ T

Among them, Δ E represents the variation value of the output electromotive force, Δ T represents the temperature change value. By measuring the output electromotive force under different temperature changes, an approximate value of sensitivity can be obtained.

In practical applications, people usually use standard temperature differences to calculate the sensitivity of thermocouples. Standard temperature difference refers to the change in output electromotive force under standard temperature conditions. By calculating the change in output electromotive force under standard temperature difference and dividing it by the standard temperature difference, the sensitivity of the thermocouple can be obtained.
