How to determine if a hot runner brand has low vibration?

Technical design, real testing, and industry verification are three ways to evaluate a hot runner brand's vibration control capabilities. The following are specific techniques:

1. Prioritize the brand's structural design in relation to vibration reduction by first looking at key design indications (pre-screening). In general, products that satisfy certain design criteria have improved vibration control:

Does it suggest a multi-point support system or a rigid manifold design? Resonance and vibration amplitude are decreased by increased stiffness;

Does it make use of optimal flow channel design? For instance, melt turbulence and vibration at the source are lessened by large turning radii and smooth transition sections;

Does it come with pre-installed vibration damping structure interfaces? Supporting the use of dampening pads that can withstand high temperatures shows that the brand took vibration control into account when designing.

2. Real Testing and Verification (Direct and Most Accurate) There are two easy ways to assess the performance of trial molds or samples that you receive:

Initial Assessment: When the injection molding machine is running steadily, feel the vibration amplitude by touching the outside of the mold while the power is off. The vibration management is better when there is less shaking. As an alternative, use a stethoscope in close proximity to the hot runner installation region; the frequency and amplitude of vibration decrease with the amount of aberrant noise and vibration interference.

Testing for product consistency involves continuously producing 100 molds and measuring the dimensional deviation of the final product. Good hot runner vibration control is indicated if the dimensional discrepancies between numerous cavities are constant and the dimensional changes are minimal across multiple manufacturing runs of the same cavity.

3. See Industry Reputation and Verification

Give priority to the downstream industries that the brand serves: Companies with a long history of supplying industries with high dimensional precision requirements, such the automotive and medical sectors, have a more developed vibration control system;

Examine the technical patents for the brand: If a company holds patents for "vibration reduction structure" or "flow channel noise reduction," it has made significant investments in vibration control research and development, guaranteeing improved performance;

Ask peers for real user feedback: Vibration control performance is higher for brands that seldom have loose screws or glue leaks after extended use.
