How to Determine if a Hot Runner Vibration Exceeds Standardcv

A rapid and precise evaluation can be obtained by combining instrument testing with production observation, adhering to the principle of "first determine parameters with instruments, then verify in production." The criteria are unambiguous and immediately applicable:

Step 1: Core Basis: Accurate Instrument Judgment To measure the vibration on the outside of the hot runner manifold steadily, use a professional vibration meter. An exceedance occurs when any one of the following conditions is met:

Excessive Frequency: Vibration frequency more than 30 Hz. > 20Hz is regarded as odd for traditional naturally vibrating hot runners.

Amplitude Exceeds Requirements: Vibration amplitude > 0.2 mm for medium to big hot runners (1 outlet 8 or more) and > 0.1 mm for small hot runners (1 outlet 4 or less).

Step 2: Verification of Production Phenomena (Final Confirmation)

Vibration exceeding limits and impacting production can be identified even if parameters are marginally out of control if any two of the following criteria are satisfied:

Product-side: Surface vibration marks and flow markings develop in batches with a failure rate greater than 5%, or dimensional variances in continuously produced goods surpass one-third of the design tolerance;

Equipment-side: Within three months of manufacturing, there are loose connection screws that need to be tightened within a month, or there may even be glue leaks;

Sensor-side: Zero-point drift is greater than permitted, temperature and pressure sensor outputs regularly change, and measurement data cannot be reliably supplied.

Production phenomena can also be employed to identify the reason in the absence of specialized equipment. It is essentially verified that vibration is above limits if two or more of the aforementioned events occur.
