How to determine if hot runner vibration is severe?
Leave a message
A grading system that divides it into three categories-mild, moderate, and severe-from low to high impact can be used to assess it. The following are the particular requirements:
1. Mild Vibration (little impact, momentary)
If only one of the following criteria is satisfied, mild vibration that has no effect on output is deemed to occur:
Only auscultation or touch can detect a slight vibration without any unusual noise;
There are no vibration or flow markings on the surface, the pass rate is normal, and the product's dimensional deviations are within tolerance limits;
Sensor data is stable, and production has been going on for more than three months without any glue leaks, loose screws, or other issues.
2. Moderate Vibration (Needs Modification, Will Get Worse If Nothing Is Done)
If two or fewer of the following criteria are satisfied, medium vibration calls for intervention:
There is a small odd loudness and a palpable tingling vibration;
Defect rates range from 5% to 15%, product dimensions vary around the highest tolerance level, and there are sporadic vibration marks and material shortages;
Every one to three months, screws come loose; once they are tightened, production can restart;
Sensor data satisfies process control requirements despite minor fluctuations.
3. Extreme Vibration (Needs Quick Shutdown)
If any one or more of the following circumstances apply, severe vibration necessitates shutdown for inspection and repair:
visible shaking of the hot runner or mold, as well as a distinct anomalous high-frequency noise;
Vibration marks, dimensional problems, and material shortages develop in batches and fail to meet delivery criteria, resulting in a product failure rate above 15%;
Within a month, screws come loose, glue leaks often, heating coils break, and other issues arise that affect production capacity and cause frequent shutdowns;
Sensor data constantly leaps in values, varies greatly, and is unable to produce reliable measurement data.
