How to extend the service life of electric heating tubes?

To extend the service life of electric heating tubes, measures can be taken from the aspects of correct selection, installation, use and maintenance, as follows:
Correct selection
Reasonable selection of power: According to the material, mass, volume of the heated object, and the temperature and heating time requirements to be achieved, accurately calculate the required heating power to avoid excessive or too low power. Excessive power will cause the heating tube to be in a high-load operation state for a long time, accelerating the aging of components; too low power will not meet the heating needs, and may cause the heating tube to work for a long time without stopping, which also affects the life.
Choose high-quality products: Buy electric heating tubes of well-known brands and reliable quality. High-quality electric heating tubes use better material performance, more advanced manufacturing technology, better performance in high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, insulation performance, etc., which can effectively extend the service life.
Correct installation
Ensure the installation location is appropriate: Electric heating tubes should be installed in a dry and well-ventilated place, away from flammable and explosive items. At the same time, ensure that there is enough space around the heating tube to facilitate heat dissipation and avoid heat accumulation. For plug-in heating tubes, ensure that the insertion depth is appropriate and fully in contact with the heated object, but not directly in contact with the container wall or bottom to avoid local overheating.
Firm connection and good insulation: During installation, ensure that the terminal of the electric heating tube is firmly connected to avoid looseness to prevent excessive contact resistance from generating heat and damaging the heating tube. At the same time, ensure that the insulation performance of the wiring is good to prevent leakage accidents from occurring, affecting the normal use and life of the heating tube.
Correct use
Avoid dry burning: When heating liquids, ensure that the liquid submerges the heating tube to prevent dry burning. Dry burning will cause the surface temperature of the heating tube to rise sharply, far exceeding its normal operating temperature, leading to problems such as heating wire melting and insulation material damage, seriously shortening the service life of the heating tube.
Control the working temperature: Use the electric heating tube strictly in accordance with the rated operating temperature range to avoid over-temperature operation. Excessive temperature will accelerate the aging of the heating wire and insulation material, and reduce the performance and life of the heating tube. If you need to work at a higher temperature, you should choose a high-temperature resistant electric heating tube.
Prevent frequent start-stop: Frequent starting and stopping of the electric heating tube will cause it to be subjected to greater current shocks and thermal stress changes, which may easily cause heating wire fatigue, loose solder joints and other problems, affecting the service life. Therefore, in actual use, the number of unnecessary starts and stops should be minimized.
Regular maintenance
Regular cleaning: Clean the dirt and dust on the surface of the electric heating tube regularly to keep its surface clean. Dirt and dust will affect the heat dissipation effect of the heating tube, causing the surface temperature to rise, reducing the heating efficiency, and accelerating the aging of the components. For the metal oxides on the surface of the heating tube, you can clean it according to the actual situation. Generally speaking, if the oxide layer is thick and affects the heating effect or appearance, it needs to be cleaned.
Check the insulation performance: Use an insulation resistance tester to check the insulation resistance of the electric heating tube regularly to ensure that its insulation performance is good. If the insulation resistance value is found to drop, it may be that the insulation material is damp or damaged, and it needs to be processed in time, such as drying or replacing the insulation material, to prevent leakage accidents and protect the normal operation of the heating tube.
Check the connection parts: Regularly check the connection parts such as the terminal, plug, and socket of the electric heating tube to check whether there are loose, oxidized, corroded, etc. If there is a problem, it should be tightened, cleaned or replaced in time to ensure a good connection and avoid overheating due to poor contact, which will affect the service life of the heating tube.
