How to operate and maintain the centrifuge correctly
Leave a message
Centrifuges are important precision equipment for biochemical experimental teaching and research. Improper use or lack of regular maintenance and upkeep can lead to serious accidents. Therefore, when using centrifuges, it is necessary to strictly follow the operating procedures.
1. When using various centrifuges, it is necessary to accurately balance the centrifuge tube and its contents on the balance in advance. The weight difference during balance should not exceed the range specified in the instructions of each centrifuge. Each centrifuge has its own allowable difference in different rotating heads, and the rotating head cannot load a single number of tubes. When the rotating head is only partially loaded, the tubes must be symmetrically placed in the rotating head, In order to evenly distribute the load around the rotating head.
2. When loading solutions, it is necessary to follow the specific operating instructions of various centrifuges. Suitable centrifuge tubes should be selected based on the properties and volume of the liquid to be centrifuged. The centrifuge tube may not have a cover, and the liquid should not be loaded too much to prevent it from being thrown out during centrifugation, causing imbalance, rust, or corrosion of the rotating head. However, for the centrifuge tubes of preparative overspeed centrifuges, it is often required to fill the liquid, To avoid deformation of the upper part of the plastic centrifuge tube during centrifugation.
Precautions for use
1. It should be fixed in an accurate position, the fixing screws should be tightened, whether there are cracks and corrosion in the rotating head and other accessories, and whether the ground wire is in contact.
2. Independent sockets must be used to ensure voltage stability; If the user's voltage is unstable, it is necessary to connect a regulated power supply to avoid damaging the centrifuge; The desktop low-speed centrifuge should be placed on a sturdy, stable, and horizontal platform, with a certain amount of space left around the chassis to maintain good ventilation.
3. After each use, the lid should be opened, the condensed water should be wiped off, and then naturally air dried; Before and after centrifugation, the rotating head must be gently vertically lowered or lifted to avoid collision with the rotating shaft and the rotating head.
4. After using the centrifuge head, basket, sleeve, etc., they should be wiped dry and placed separately.
5. If glass tube breakage occurs during the centrifugation process, debris should be removed from the centrifuge chamber, casing, and other areas, otherwise it may damage the centrifuge.
6. Regularly use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the heat sink located at the back of the centrifuge.
If any corrosion or cracks are found on the bricks of the centrifuge, they should be replaced immediately. And it is necessary to regularly use polishing oil to maintain the rotor, hanging basket, and sleeve to avoid corrosion. Use lubricating oil to lubricate the shaft, hanging basket ear, and other parts.
