1. The pipe body is leaking electricity.
2. There is no obvious damage to the tube body. If the resistance value of the heating tube measured with a multimeter is 0, it must be broken.
3. There are obvious holes, sand holes, and cracking on the surface of the pipe.
If there are the above points, it can be judged that the heating tube is damaged.

Set the multimeter to the 1K ohm gear, connect the two probes to both ends of the heating wire, and move the pointer to a certain value in the middle to indicate that the heating wire is normal. If the pointer reaches the end, it indicates that the heating wire is short circuited. If the pointer does not move, it indicates that the heating wire is open circuited. Both short circuiting and open circuiting are problems and cannot be used normally.
Use a small resistance range to measure the wiring terminals at both ends of the electric heating tube. The resistance value should be below a few hundred ohms. A high-power electric heating tube will have a smaller resistance and energy flow, but if the resistance value is high, the electric heating tube may also have burned out.
Measure the resistance between the wiring pile head and the heating tube shell using the high resistance range of the electric meter. The resistance value should be infinite. If the resistance value is only a few tens of kiloohms, it indicates that the insulation of the heating tube has been broken, and there is a risk of leakage during use. It is best not to use such heating tubes again.
Power design
Because the power design of electric heating tubes varies in different usage environments, we usually measure them based on the power per meter (i.e. how much power can be achieved in a one meter long heating zone).
(1) The power per meter for water heating is between 1-3;
(2) The power per meter for oil heating is between 1-2;
(3) The power per meter for air heating is between 1-1.5; Beyond this range, the higher the power, the shorter the lifespan
