Injection molding machine screw nozzle

Injection molding nozzles, also known as plastic injection nozzles, are key components used to deliver molten plastic within injection molding machines. The following is a detailed introduction to injection molding nozzles:

1. Structural Features
Injection molding nozzles are typically flat, conical objects, primarily consisting of a nozzle sleeve, an inner core, and a nozzle. Their design ensures smooth and stable flow of molten plastic, controlling its flow and injection velocity.

2. Main Functions
Controlling the Flow of Molten Plastic: Through its unique structural design and precise control, the injection molding nozzle ensures that the molten plastic flows at the appropriate velocity and pressure during the injection process, meeting the molding requirements of the plastic product.
Improving Plasticization Quality: During the pre-molding stage, the nozzle creates back pressure, aiding degassing and preventing molten material from drooling, thereby improving plasticization quality.
Preventing Molten Material from Spilling: During injection, the nozzle maintains close contact with the mold's main runner, preventing molten material from spilling and ensuring molding quality.
Increasing Injection Rate: The nozzle builds up melt pressure, increasing the injection rate, thereby enhancing mixing and resulting in more uniform and dense plastic products. III. Types and Classifications
Injection molding machine nozzles can be divided into various types based on their structure and function, such as straight-through nozzles, lock-off nozzles, hot runner nozzles, and multi-channel nozzles.

Straight-through nozzles: The channel of straight-through nozzles is always open, making them suitable for injection molding of most plastic materials. They feature a simple structure, are easy to manufacture and install, and offer high injection speeds and minimal pressure loss.
Lock-off nozzles: Lock-off nozzles temporarily close the nozzle channel after injection and pressure holding, preventing molten material from drooling. These nozzles are suitable for processing low-viscosity polymers, such as PA.
IV. Use and Maintenance
Precautions:
When using injection molding machine nozzles, ensure they are clean and free of impurities to avoid affecting the flow of the molten plastic and the injection molding effect.
Select the appropriate nozzle type and parameters based on the type of plastic material and molding requirements.
Regularly check the nozzle for wear and replace any severely worn nozzles promptly.
Maintenance:
Clean and maintain the nozzle regularly to ensure it is clean and free of clogs. Check the nozzle's fit with the mold's main runner to ensure tight contact and no leaks.
Regularly check the nozzle's heating system and temperature control system to ensure proper operation.
