Maintenance of nickel plating tank
1) Keep the temperature between 55-60qC, and the temperature of pre plating and semi gloss nickel should not exceed 65 degrees Celsius to avoid darkening of the coating color.
2) Check the pH value of the plating solution twice a day and control it between 4.0 and 4.2. When the pH value is too high, dilute H2SO4 (about 30%) is used to adjust it, and when the pH value is too low, dilute NaOH (about 10%) is used to adjust it.
3) Timely clean the crystalline substances in the plating solution along the edge of the bath to avoid excessive accumulation and falling into the bath causing defects such as burrs and pits on the plating layer.
4) For nickel tanks, the filtration of the plating solution is very important, and the filtration effect must be better. Absorb carbon at least once a week, with a carbon absorption amount of 0.2~0.5k.g/1000L.
5) The pre nickel plating tank should be turned over every three months, the anode bag should be cleaned, the worn anode bag should be inspected and replaced, and the plating solution should be treated once every six months. Semigloss nickel and full-gloss nickel need to be turned over every six months, cleaned and replaced with worn anode bags, and overhauled at least once a year.
6) During idle time, small current electrolysis (0.2~0.5A/dm) should be performed on the plating solution to remove metal impurities.
7) Check the electrical conductivity of each part to ensure good electrical conductivity.
8) Conduct a Hall cell test piece on the plating bath every two days to understand the status of the plating solution. Analyze the composition of the plating solution once a week and add materials in time.
9) Zinc impurities are easily carried in pre nickel plating tanks, and a certain amount of impurity removal water is usually required to control the harm of zinc ions to electroplating. During selection, attention should be paid to selecting impurities removal water with low sulfur content, as adding impurities removal water with high sulfur content can easily cause bubbles between pre plating nickel and acid copper.
