Practical Skills to Distinguish New and Aging Hot Runner Thermocouples
Leave a message
It is frequently important to swiftly separate newly qualified thermocouples from aging and performance-degraded old items in the daily purchase of spare parts, on-site maintenance replacement, and inventory sorting tasks. Gaining proficiency in basic and useful identification techniques can successfully prevent the mixing of new and old accessories, stop aging products from being used again, and lessen a variety of quality risks and production errors brought on by the reuse of expired accessories.
The first is the observation of intuitive appearance.
The test for structural firmness and flexibility comes in second. The new thermocouples' wire bodies have good bending durability, allowing for repeated bending at a tolerable angle without internal loose noise or wire core fracture. During installation, the clamping is smooth and tight, and the thread structure is undamaged. Long-term high-temperature baking causes aging thermocouples to become brittle generally; the internal structure is loose, the wire body is easily broken when bent slightly, and gentle shaking will produce an unusual shaking sound. A good anti-loose fixing effect cannot be achieved due to the worn and slick fixing thread.
The third is a comparison test of temperature response speed. New high-quality thermocouples can detect temperature changes rapidly under the same heating conditions; the temperature rise and fall data feedback is sensitive and quick; and the numerical fluctuation is stable without abrupt jumps. The sensing latency, delayed temperature rise feedback, high data floating range in constant temperature state, and poor stability of aging thermocouples make them unable to maintain consistency with the actual temperature change rhythm.
Precision error detection and judgment is the fourth. Conduct a simultaneous temperature measurement test using specialized temperature comparison equipment. The repeated measurement data is very consistent, and the temperature measurement error of newly approved items is controlled within the industry standard range. Aging products cannot fulfill the precise criteria of formal production temperature control because the temperature drift value is too high, the error is greater than the permitted range, and the data difference between consecutive measurements is evident.
Additionally, we can differentiate using service cycle records and production batch numbers. The production date and batch details will be noted on the product accessories by regular manufacturers. We can precisely estimate the thermocouples' remaining steady service life when combined with the actual use time on site. In actual accessory management, make sure that all thermocouples used in the production line are in optimal performance condition, rigorously separate new spare parts from recycled old accessories, remove the haphazard reuse of aging thermocouples from the management level, and successfully ensure the stability of hot runner temperature control and injection molding product quality.
