Precautions for using electric heating rods

Electric heating rods are widely used in our lives due to their small size and rapid heating. They are commonly used in industrial water tanks and oil tanks, metal modules, various medical equipment, edge banding machines, and more. So, what are the precautions for using electric heating rods?

The main precautions for electric heating rods are:
1. When using electric heating rods for module heating, ensure the heating element diameter fits snugly against the mold hole diameter. The smaller the gap between them, the better the heat transfer and heating effect. Before installation, ensure the mold hole is clean and free of oil residue; oil residue from machining will carbonize after heating, affecting heat conduction and potentially damaging the heating element.
2. The material of the electric heating rod must be selected according to the operating temperature.
① For operating environments with temperatures between 0-350℃, SUS304 stainless steel is recommended for the heating element/heater. The optimal surface temperature resistance is 550℃.
② For operating environments with temperatures between 350-450℃, the recommended material for the electric heating element/heater is SUS321 stainless steel, with an optimal surface temperature resistance of 600℃.
③ For operating environments with temperatures between 450-600℃, the recommended material for the electric heating element/heater is SUS310S stainless steel, with an optimal surface temperature resistance of 800℃.
Note: For heating weakly acidic, weakly alkaline, or corrosive liquids, use 316L stainless steel.
3. Water-heating electric heating elements must not be allowed to dry-burn. If the liquid level drops, a cold zone for the heating element must be designed in advance to prevent it from burning out.
4. The electric heating element must be used with a temperature control system!
