Polyester fibers have the characteristics of high strength, good heat resistance, and excellent mechanical properties. Metallic silver has advantages such as low contact resistance, excellent conductivity, thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance, but its widespread application is limited due to the high price of pure silver. 1 Experimental part

1.1 Reagents and raw materials

Polyester short fiber (PET): tensile strength>800MPa, elongation at break=(25 ± 9)%, diameter=(20 ± 4) μ m. China Textile Research Institute; AgNO3, NH3 · H2O, NaOH, anhydrous ethanol, glucose, and thiourea are all commercially available analytical reagents.

1.2 Preparation of silver plated fibers

Using 2mm long short cut PET fibers as the core material, surface pre-treatment is carried out to form a catalytic active core, making chemical silver plating easier. The specific operation is as follows: after roughening the PET fiber with a NaOH solution of w=0.05, it is first washed with deionized water, then activated and sensitized with salt based colloidal palladium. Then, it is thoroughly cleaned with deionized water and placed in the plating solution for chemical silver plating. The concentration composition of the plating solution: 10-14g/L of AgNO3 φ= 0.10% NH3 · H2O, 13g/L NaOH φ= 0.05 anhydrous ethanol; Composition of reducing solution concentration: 10g/L glucose, w=1.0 × 10-6～5.0 × 10-6 thiourea. The temperature of the plating solution is controlled at 20-30 ° C, and the plating time is about 1 hour. After plating, clean the fibers with deionized water and vacuum dry them at a certain temperature.
