Respiratory negative pressure

Negative pressure refers to respiratory protective equipment in which the pressure in the mask during the breathing phase is less than the ambient pressure during the breathing cycle during use.

Isolated and powered air-supply respiratory protection products mostly use cylinders or divert air supply systems to supply air, generally positive pressure type; filter-type respiratory protection products rely on voluntary breathing, generally negative pressure type.
