Selection requirements for explosion-proof temperature controllers for electric heating

Explosion-proof temperature controllers are used to control the temperature of the heated medium, maintaining it within a certain range and operating within acceptable temperature fluctuations. For pipe insulation in flammable and explosive areas, explosion-proof thermostats should be used.

Self-limiting electric heating systems offer a certain degree of temperature regulation. If precise temperature control is not required, a thermostat is not necessary. However, for applications with strict temperature fluctuation requirements, such as those where fluctuations should not exceed ±1°C, a high-precision thermostat is required to control the temperature range.

Constant-power electric heating products offer high heating temperatures, constant power, and excellent insulation. Whether used for pipe frost protection or insulation, a thermostat is required. Every electric heating system should have both a thermostat and a line sensor to prevent damage from overheating.

When installing an explosion-proof temperature controller, the probe should be exposed to the surrounding environment of the heated medium. The temperature setpoint is adjustable inside the top cover of the temperature controller. The power to the heating cable is automatically turned on or off when the ambient temperature drops below or exceeds the setpoint. The temperature sensor and monitoring probe should be placed at the lowest temperature point at the top of the pipeline, close to the outer wall of the measured pipeline, fixed with aluminum foil tape or heat-resistant pressure-sensitive tape and away from the electric heating tape, and at least 1 meter away from the heating element.
