The electric water heater needs to be maintained in this way

Electric water heaters are easy to use and fast to boil water, making them one of the essential appliances in many households. The use and maintenance of electric water heaters can affect their lifespan. In order to keep the electric water heater in use for a few more years, it is best to use and maintain it correctly. Let's take a look at the correct maintenance methods for electric water heaters!
1: Precautions for initial use
Ensure firmness: Ensure the firmness of the installation and leave sufficient installation space for the water heater on a solid wall. Ensure that the water heater is powered by an independent power source and equipped with a leakage protection device.
Air discharge: After opening the water outlet valve, add water to the water heater to ensure that the air inside the water heater can be discharged smoothly. After confirming that the water heater is full, power on and heat it up.
2: Regular inspection
Heating pipe: After a period of use, the water heater is more likely to accumulate in heating pipes and other parts. Regular maintenance of the heating tube can improve thermal efficiency and save electricity bills.
Inner liner: Similar to the heating tube, it is also important to regularly clean the inner liner of the water heater. It is recommended to follow the steps in the product manual to clean the inner liner: first turn off the power, drain the water heater, and then add clean water for cleaning. After cleaning, it should also be the same as when using the water heater for the first time. First fill the water heater with water, then connect the power, and restart the heating work of the water heater.
Clean the surface of the body: first turn off the power, then use a neutral cleaning agent combined with a soft fabric to wipe the shell of the water heater, and then use a clean damp cloth to wipe the shell clean. It should be noted that cleaning agents with strong acidity and alkalinity should not be used, hard objects should not be used to clean the body shell, and flushing, soaking, and other methods should not be used to clean the body shell of the water heater.
Cleaning shower accessories: Remove the accessories (such as shower nozzles), soak them in a dehydrated alkali solvent (preferably diluted), then gently brush the water outlet, and then clean the accessories with clean water before reinstalling them.
3: Regular inspection at least once a year
Carefully detect and eliminate safety performance and other potential hazards; Users who do not turn off the power supply of the water heater all year round should regularly check whether the water heater is normal, and if there are any abnormal situations, they should be promptly sent to a repair point for repair. When the water heater is in normal use, replace the temperature controller and heater at the designated maintenance point every three years. Replace overdue water heaters in a timely manner. Electric water heaters need to be inspected and maintained once a year because there are more or less impurities in the water. After using the heating element for a period of time, it is easy to be corroded by alkaline substances in the water, which can also affect the safety performance of the electric water heater. After using an electric water heater for a period of time, scale can easily accumulate on the heating pipe, seriously affecting heating efficiency and consuming electrical energy. Therefore, regular maintenance of the heating pipe is required for general electric water heaters. In addition, the inner liner of the electric water heater should be cleaned every six months. The cleaning method is to first cut off the power supply, close the inlet valve, and then open the outlet valve. Rotate the drain switch on the safety valve counterclockwise by 90 degrees to naturally drain the water and sediment from the water heater. Then rinse with tap water. After cleaning, restore the drainage switch to its original position and fill it with water before powering on.
4: When not in use for a long time, turn off the power supply
When not in use for a long time, turn off the power and drain the water stored in the tank; If the water output of the shower decreases, it is necessary to promptly clean up any blocked debris to ensure a smooth outlet, which can help extend the service life of the water heater. If the water heater is not used for a long time, the first step is to unplug the power plug and keep it in a power off state. This is mainly for safety. If the water heater is not used for a long time, it will keep it in working condition, which will accelerate the aging of the components in the water heater and shorten its service life.
5: Precautions
If there is no one at home for a long time, power off the electric water heater and drain the water in the tank before going out. If it is not used for a long time and needs to be used again, the storage condition of the water heater must be checked first to eliminate hidden dangers before use.
