This is how to correctly install the compression spring thermocouple

The compression spring thermocouple uses a compression spring to hold the end of the thermocouple close to the surface of the object to be measured to improve the reliability and accuracy of the measurement. It is used in conjunction with display instruments and can directly measure temperatures in the range of 0~400℃. The installation of the compression spring fixed thermocouple is to fix it on the object to be measured, first tighten the connecting bolts on the object to be measured, then hold the thermocouple close to the object to be measured, tighten the sleeve screws, and then tighten the locking sleeve. The compression spring thermocouple can be bent freely, has the characteristics of short thermal response time and easy use, and is suitable for plastic extruders, textiles, food and other industries. When choosing the installation location and insertion depth of the compression spring thermocouple, pay attention to the following points:
1. In order to ensure sufficient heat exchange between the measuring end of the compression spring thermocouple and the measured medium, the measuring point position should be reasonably selected, and try to avoid installing the compression spring thermocouple near the dead corners of valves, elbows, pipelines and equipment.
2. The compression spring thermocouple with a protective sleeve has heat transfer and heat dissipation losses. In order to reduce the measurement error, the compression spring thermocouple should have a sufficient insertion depth.
3. For the compression spring thermocouple that measures the temperature of the fluid in the center of the pipeline, the measuring end should generally be inserted into the center of the pipeline (vertical installation or inclined installation). If the pipeline diameter of the measured fluid is 200 mm, the insertion depth of the compression spring thermocouple should be 100 mm.
4. For the temperature measurement of high-temperature, high-pressure and high-speed fluids (such as main steam temperature), in order to reduce the resistance of the protective sleeve to the fluid and prevent the protective sleeve from breaking under the action of the fluid, the protection tube can be shallowly inserted or a heat sleeve thermocouple can be used. The shallow insertion compression spring thermocouple protective sleeve should be inserted into the main steam pipeline to a depth of not less than 75 mm; the standard insertion depth of the heat sleeve thermocouple is 100 mm.
5. If the temperature of the flue gas in the flue needs to be measured, even if the flue diameter is 4 m, the insertion depth of the compression spring thermocouple is 1 m.
6. When the insertion depth of the measuring element exceeds 1m, it should be installed vertically as much as possible, or a support frame and protective sleeve should be installed.
