What are the connection methods of infrared heating tubes

1. Series Connection

Series connection is one of the basic ways to connect infrared heating tubes. It involves connecting the heating tubes one by one. Series connection is also called a series circuit. The total voltage in a series circuit equals the sum of the voltages in each branch; the total current in a series circuit equals the branch current; the total resistance in a series circuit equals the sum of the resistances in each branch; and the total power in a series circuit equals the sum of the power in each branch. The heating tubes are connected in the same circuit. Therefore, if a heating element is damaged or disconnected at any point in a series circuit, the entire circuit is disconnected, and no current flows, causing all electrical components to cease functioning.

2. Parallel Connection

Parallel connection is also one of the main ways to connect infrared heating tubes. Parallel connection is a connection method that connects the ends of the tubes together, creating a parallel circuit. In a parallel circuit, the total voltage equals the voltage in each branch; the total current equals the sum of the currents in each branch; and the total power equals the sum of the power in each branch. Although connected in the same circuit, the two elements are wired differently, so a break in one element does not affect the other.

3. Y-Connection (Star Connection)

Another common connection method for infrared heating tubes is the star connection. A star connection is a connection method between a three-phase AC power source and a three-phase electrical appliance. The three terminals of the three-phase load are connected together as a common terminal, forming three fire lines. The neutral voltage in a Y-connected circuit is equal to the phase voltage multiplied by the number of lines (3); the line current in a Y-connected circuit is equal to the phase current.

4. Delta Connection (Corner Connection)

The final connection method for infrared heating tubes is the delta connection. The delta connection connects the power sources or loads of each phase sequentially, with each connection point drawn as a three-phase line. The neutral voltage in a delta-connected circuit is equal to the phase voltage; the neutral current in a delta-connected circuit is equal to the phase current multiplied by the number of lines (3).
