What are the disadvantages of electromagnetic induction heating?

Although electromagnetic induction heating has many advantages, it also has some disadvantages, mainly including high equipment cost, high requirements for the heated object, complex system and certain electromagnetic radiation:
High equipment cost: The electromagnetic induction heating system includes components such as induction power supply and induction coil. Its manufacturing process is complex and the technical content is high. Therefore, the purchase cost of the equipment is much higher than traditional heating methods such as resistance heating. For some small enterprises or projects with limited budgets, the high initial investment may become an obstacle to the use of electromagnetic induction heating.
High requirements for the heated object: Electromagnetic induction heating relies on alternating magnetic fields to generate eddy currents in the heated object to generate heat, so the heated object is required to have certain conductivity and magnetism. For some materials with poor conductivity or non-magnetic materials, such as some ceramics and plastics, the effect of electromagnetic induction heating will be very poor, or even unable to achieve heating, which to a certain extent limits its scope of application.
High system complexity: The working principle of the electromagnetic induction heating system involves multiple disciplines such as electromagnetism and electronics, and the system is relatively complex. Its installation and commissioning require professional technicians, and during operation, if a fault occurs, it is difficult to repair, requiring professional maintenance personnel and special detection equipment, which increases maintenance costs and maintenance time.
Existence of electromagnetic radiation: The electromagnetic induction heating system will generate certain electromagnetic radiation when working. Although usually these radiations are controlled within the safety standard range and have little impact on human health and the surrounding environment, in some places with high requirements for electromagnetic environment, such as some special areas of hospitals, precision electronic equipment production workshops, etc., additional shielding measures may be required to prevent electromagnetic interference, which will increase the cost and complexity of the system.
