What are the effects of solution treatment on the performance of hot runner stainless steel bolts?
Leave a message
As we spoke previously about the solution treatment duration of hot runner stainless steel bolts and the material properties of 304/316 stainless steel, the main effects of solution treatment on the performance of the bolt are:
Stress Relief: Completely relieves residual internal stress due to cold work, preventing deformation and cracking under high temperature conditions in hot runner systems.
Improved Corrosion Resistance: It completely dissolves carbides deposited at grain boundaries, thereby greatly enhancing the corrosion resistance of 304/316 stainless steel, which is suited for injection molding applications with corrosive raw materials.
Optimized High-Temperature Stability: Provides a homogeneous single phase austenitic structure, which greatly enhances the bolt's creep resistance at high temperatures and reduces the risk of loosening even under prolonged conditions at 250℃.
Moderate Hardness Reduction: Stable control of bolt hardness below HB187, preventing excessive hardness from causing thread stripping during installation, and fulfilling the normal installation torque requirements of hot runner systems.
The performance improvements greatly increase the service life of hot runner bolts and reduce the risk of production failures.
