What is a two-color injection molding machine? How to achieve the two-color injection molding process?

The process of achieving two-color injection molding requires the following steps:

1. Mold design: Two-color injection molding machines use special two-color molds, in which each injection unit corresponds to one color or material. The mold usually consists of two or more injection cavities, each of which is used to inject different colors or materials. Mold design should consider factors such as product shape, color conversion area, and color separation.

2. Injection molding process: During the injection molding process, two or more injection units of the two-color injection molding machine work simultaneously. First, one injection unit injects the plastic of the first color or material into the corresponding cavity of the mold. Then, the other injection unit injects the plastic of the second color or material into the other cavity. Through timely conversion and control, the two colors or materials can be correctly injected and combined in the mold.

3. Temperature and pressure control: The temperature and pressure need to be precisely controlled during the two-color injection molding process to ensure the fluidity and melting state of the plastic material. Different plastic materials may require different temperature and pressure parameters, so the injection molding machine needs to be able to adjust and monitor these parameters in real time.

4. Color conversion and cleaning: When it is necessary to switch from one color to another, the two-color injection molding machine needs to go through a color conversion and cleaning process. This involves flushing out the old color and ensuring that the injection unit and the inside of the mold are completely clean to avoid color mixing or contamination.
