What is the difference between surface platinum thermal resistor and armored thermal resistor?

Although armored thermal resistors are widely used in industry, their application is limited by their temperature measurement range. The temperature measurement principle of thermal resistors is based on the characteristic that the resistance value of conductors or semiconductors changes with temperature. It has many advantages. It can also transmit electrical signals remotely, has high sensitivity, strong stability, good interchangeability and accuracy, but requires power excitation and cannot measure temperature changes instantaneously. Industrial thermal resistors generally use Pt100, Pt10, Cu50, Cu100. The temperature measurement range of platinum thermal resistors is generally minus 200-800℃, and that of copper thermal resistors is minus 40 to 140℃. Thermal resistors are classified into the same types as thermocouples, but they do not require compensation wires and are cheaper than thermocouples.
In many cases, on-site flow temperature measurement is required according to process requirements. The WZPM series surface platinum thermal resistors are the latest products designed according to the above process requirements and are widely used in textile, printing and dyeing, papermaking, plastics, rubber and other industrial sectors.
WZPM series surface platinum thermal resistors are divided into three types: handle type, straight handle type and fixed type. There are two shapes of temperature measuring handles for matching selection, which can be selected according to the different shapes and needs of the measured objects. It is light in appearance and easy to carry, especially suitable for processing sites.
The surface platinum thermal resistor temperature measuring head is made of thin film platinum resistance elements, so it has the advantages of accuracy, sensitivity, fast thermal response time, stable quality and long service life.
Although armored thermal resistors are also widely used in industry, their application is subject to certain restrictions due to their temperature measurement range. Armored thermal resistors are solid bodies composed of temperature sensing elements (resistance bodies), lead wires, insulating materials, and stainless steel sleeves. Their outer diameter is generally φ2-φ8mm, and the minimum can reach φ0.25mm. Compared with ordinary thermal resistors, they have the following advantages:
Armored thermal resistors are a type of temperature sensor. They are smaller in diameter than assembled thermocouples, easier to bend, and have good shock resistance. They are suitable for installation in places where assembled thermocouples cannot be installed. The armored thermocouples produced by the company use imported thermal resistor temperature measuring elements, so they have the advantages of accuracy, sensitivity, fast thermal response time, stable quality, and long service life.
