**Two-color Injection Molding**
Equipment: Requires a dedicated two-color injection molding machine (dual barrel, dual nozzle), capable of injecting two materials simultaneously or sequentially.
Mold: One mold contains two cavities. Two injections are achieved through a rotating mechanism (such as a turntable or core rotation), eliminating the need for manual product transfer.

**Two-shot Injection Molding (Secondary Injection Molding)**

2. Process
Two-Color Injection Molding
One-time completion: Two injections are completed on the same machine and in the same mold, with the cavity switched via a rotating mechanism.
Material compatibility: Strict control of the melting point, shrinkage rate, and adhesion of the two materials is required. Typically, the first injection is a hard plastic (e.g., PC), and the second is a soft plastic (e.g., TPU/TPE).
Two-Injection Molding
Step-by-step operation: After the first injection, demolding and transfer to a second mold are required. High positioning accuracy of the semi-finished product is required.
Flexibility: Can be used with different materials (e.g., metal inserts, silicone, etc.), but additional surface treatment (e.g., applying a base coat) is required to ensure adhesion.
3. Application Scenarios
Two-Color Injection Molding
Suitable for high-precision, high-consistency two-color or two-material products, such as automotive parts, electronic product housings, and appliance buttons.
Typical Examples: Mobile phone frame (metal + plastic), toothbrush handle (hard plastic + soft plastic).
Two-shot injection molding
Suitable for small-batch production, complex structures, or products with special material combinations, such as medical accessories, silicone-coated tools, etc.
Typical Examples: Anti-slip rubber coating on handles, waterproof sealing ring structure.
4. Cost and Efficiency
Two-color injection molding
Mold cost: Higher (requires custom two-color molds), but costs can be amortized over long-term production.

Two-shot injection molding
Mold cost: Lower (two sets of ordinary molds), but higher labor costs.
