What is K-type thermocouple compensation wire?
Thermocouples are one of the sensors that measure temperature using the thermoelectric effect. K-type thermocouple is a commonly used type composed of two different metal materials, usually nickel chromium alloy and copper nickel alloy. One end of the K-type thermocouple is called the temperature sensing end, used to sense the measured temperature, and the other end is called the comparison end, used to connect with a known temperature reference. To avoid errors caused by temperature differences between the thermocouple connector and the measured temperature, compensation wires need to be used to connect the two ends.
2. How to connect the wires?
Firstly, we need to clarify some basic concepts: thermocouple compensation wires are divided into two ends, one end connected to the thermocouple and the other end connected to the compensation instrument. Before wiring, please ensure a safe working environment and disconnect the power supply of the compensating instrument.
Connect the temperature measuring end of the K-type thermocouple to the temperature measuring end of the K-type thermocouple compensation wire using the correct method. Usually, it is necessary to secure the core wires of thermocouple wires with insulated sleeves to ensure tight contact and avoid contact resistance. When wiring, please pay attention to choosing the appropriate connection method, such as welding, crimping, or crimping.
Connect the comparison end of the K-type thermocouple compensation wire to the comparison end of the compensation instrument using the correct method. In general, it is necessary to use connectors such as terminal blocks, plugs, or sockets to connect wires to instruments and ensure good signal transmission.
Check connection reliability: After wiring is completed, it is necessary to check whether the connection is firm and reliable. You can gently pull the wire to confirm if the connection is secure. If any looseness or poor contact is found, immediate repair should be carried out.
3. Precautions
During the wiring process, relevant safety operating procedures should be strictly followed to ensure a safe and reliable working environment.
When wiring, appropriate connectors such as terminal blocks, plugs, or sockets should be selected, and the connection between the connector and the wire should be firm and reliable.
Keep the compensating wires clean and dry, avoiding confusion and interference with other power or signal lines.
Regularly check the status of thermocouples, compensating wires, and connectors to ensure their proper functioning.
In summary, correct wiring is an important step in ensuring the proper functioning of K-type thermocouple compensation wires. Reasonable selection of connection methods, maintaining firm and reliable connections, and regular inspection and maintenance will help ensure the accuracy and stability of temperature measurement.
