WRNK armored thermocouple: application, principle and performance characteristics
Leave a message
WRNK armored thermocouple (Mineral-Insulated Thermocouple, referred to as MI thermocouple) is a sensor widely used in the field of temperature measurement. It uses high-strength stainless steel or nickel alloy as the shell material, is filled with insulating oxides (such as MgO) inside, and two thermocouple wires made of different metals are installed in it. Armored thermocouples have the advantages of compact structure, strong anti-interference ability, and fast response speed. They have been widely used in industrial automation control, aviation, aerospace, nuclear power and other fields.
The principle of armored thermocouples is based on the "Seebeck effect" and "Pearson effect". When two wires composed of different metals are connected into a loop, when this loop is in different temperature zones, an electric potential difference, namely thermoelectric potential, will be formed. The armored thermocouple uses the two metal wires as the two ends of the thermocouple respectively, and determines the temperature change by measuring the potential difference between them. Due to the protection of the armor layer, the influence of the thermocouple on the external environment can be reduced to a very low level.
The main performance characteristics of WRNK armored thermocouples include the following aspects:
Wide temperature range: armored thermocouples can be used for measurements in the temperature range of -200℃~+1200℃.
High precision and sensitivity: armored thermocouples have high measurement accuracy and sensitivity, which can meet the measurement needs of high precision and high speed.
Strong anti-interference ability: The metal thermocouple wire of the armored thermocouple is safely encapsulated in a stainless steel or nickel alloy tube, which can resist external electromagnetic interference and vibration and other interference factors.
High reliability: The armored thermocouple has a compact structure, long service life, is not susceptible to corrosion and mechanical damage, and therefore has high reliability.
In short, armored thermocouples are a very important temperature measurement sensor, which is widely used in all walks of life. It has many excellent performance characteristics, such as wide temperature range, high precision and sensitivity, strong anti-interference ability and high reliability, which can meet the requirements of temperature measurement in different fields and play an important role.
