Advantages in hardware and software have ensured Tesla's sales growth. Tesla's 2022 financial report shows that its annual R&D expenditure is approximately 20.9 billion yuan, an increase of 18.5% year-on-year. R&D expenses have accounted for more than 40% of operating expenses.
Recently, the new Model S/X delivered in Chinese Mainland has been improved in terms of new technology applications and software functions. According to the data, the acceleration time of the two new models from 0 to 100 km/h is 2.1 seconds and 2.6 seconds respectively. In addition, the new car is also equipped with a processor with a floating point computing capacity of up to 10 trillion times per second, and a high color fidelity 17 inch touch screen that can adjust the tilt angle from left to right, bringing users immersive audio-visual enjoyment.
The Model 3/Y model is the "base" for Tesla's global sales. At present, in Chinese Mainland, Tesla Model 3 is priced from 229900 yuan to 261900 yuan, and Model Y is priced from 261900 yuan. Active safety, OTA air upgrade, Autopilot and other technologies are all free features of Model 3/Y standard configuration, and the model configuration is more abundant.

In March of this year, the American Highway Safety Insurance Association (IIHS) released the latest safety crash test results, which showed that Tesla Model Y once again obtained the highest safety rating, with multiple scores remaining ahead. At the beginning of this year, Tesla's models have won the IIHS Top Safety Pick+award for five consecutive years. Tesla's latest safety report also shows that Autopilot can make driving safety about 6-10 times higher than the American average.
Currently, the delivery volume of Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory is maintaining a steady growth. In January and February 2023, the factory delivered 66000 and 74000 vehicles, respectively. On Investor Day 2023, Tesla announced its goal of "delivering 20 million electric vehicles by 2030.". In fact, Tesla's "million vehicle cycle" is constantly shortening, with the first "million vehicle" taking 12 years and the fourth "million vehicle" taking only 7 months. The delivery performance of 422000 vehicles in the first quarter of this year is expected to further advance the realization node of the next "million vehicle".
