Advantages of conical ribbon vacuum dryers over double cone vacuum dryers

I. Equipment Overview

The DZLG conical ribbon mixing dryer consists of a heating cone with a heating jacket. The heat source is hot water, thermal oil, or low-pressure steam, maintaining a constant temperature on the inner wall of the cone. A variable frequency speed-regulating motor drives a single ribbon agitator to rotate via a parallel helical gear reducer. This agitates the material along the conical cylinder, lifting it upwards. Upon reaching the highest point, the material automatically flows back to the vortex point and returns to the bottom of the conical cylinder due to gravity and inertia. The entire process forces heating of the material within the conical cylinder, promoting relative convection and mixing. Heat diffuses within the material, causing it to undergo irregular, omnidirectional reciprocating motion. This facilitates high-frequency heat exchange between the material and the ribbon and cylinder wall surface, achieving drying in a short time. This process continuously evaporates moisture from the material. Water vapor is drawn out by the induced draft fan using a vacuum pump or fan. If liquid recovery is required, a condenser and a recovery liquid storage tank can be added. After drying, the material is discharged by opening the discharge valve at the bottom.

This equipment is a specialized drying device for powders used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, pesticide, and food production industries. It completely overcomes the shortcomings of traditional drying equipment, such as large size, high energy consumption, long operating hours, low efficiency, high noise, easy agglomeration, multiple leakage points, and inconvenient cleaning and maintenance. It is currently the most energy-efficient, highly effective, and versatile drying device among similar domestic and international equipment used in the industry.

II. Main Structure:

The machine consists of a motor, reducer, frame, mechanical seal, hollow double-ribbon agitator, a jacketed heated conical cylinder, and a discharge valve.

1. Transmission and Sealing Components:

Composed of a motor, reducer, frame, and mechanical seal.

1.1 Motor: A variable frequency speed-regulating motor is used, allowing for speed adjustment during operation.

1.2 Reducer: SLFA series helical gear reducer, ensuring smooth and reliable operation, low noise, and long service life.

1.3 Frame: Self-designed and manufactured with high precision. 1.4 Mechanical Seal: Single-end sanitary type with material receiving and flushing chamber, providing excellent sealing.

2. Agitator:

The hollow agitator shaft is connected to a hollow helical ribbon via support rods. The upper and lower ends connected to the helical ribbon form a loop through which the heat medium can pass. To prevent material from sticking to the cylinder wall, the gap between the helical ribbon and the cylinder wall is very small.

3. Tank Body:

This part consists of the upper head, conical cylinder, and discharge valve.

3.1 Upper Head: Bears the transmission components and agitator; all inner surface pipe openings have rounded transitions. All materials in contact with the material are 304 stainless steel. Process ports include: DN400 sanitary manhole, pressure gauge, feed inlet, cleaning port, and air outlet.

3.2 Lower Cone with Heating Jacket: Smooth inner surface with no dead corners, allowing for thorough drying of the material. The rotating agitator ensures rapid and clean discharge.

3.3 Discharge Valve: A pull-out valve or vacuum valve is used, offering fast discharge speed, convenient operation, and zero residue or dead zones.

III. Features and Functions:

1. The equipment utilizes a jacketed and spiral ribbon internal heating system, increasing the overall heating area by approximately 40%.

2. The single spiral ribbon agitator achieves bottom-up circulating mixing, resulting in highly efficient forced heat transfer. With a material filling rate of 40%~80%, 100% heating utilization is achieved. Suitable for mixing and drying fine materials.

3. A fully sealed system, free from foreign matter contamination, and with high cleanliness, it is particularly suitable for mixing and drying pharmaceutical intermediates and raw materials, and can also be used for mixing and drying sterile raw materials.

4. The small gap between the single spiral ribbon agitator and the container wall effectively prevents material from adhering to the container surface.

5. The small-angle conical cylinder structure ensures fast, clean, and non-accumulating material discharge.

6. The equipment features a compact structure, smooth operation, excellent sealing, no lubrication leaks, simple operation, and long service life.

The conical ribbon vacuum mixing dryer is a highly efficient, multi-functional, fully enclosed vertical vacuum drying device integrating drying, pulverizing, vacuum distillation, and powder mixing. Its drying efficiency is 3-5 times that of a comparable double-cone rotary vacuum dryer.
