Is a direct-fired natural gas furnace or an indirect hot air furnace better for a spray dryer?

When using a hot air furnace as a heat source in a spray dryer, there's no inherent superiority of one over the other between indirect and direct-fired types. The key consideration is whether the combustion of natural gas in a direct-fired furnace affects the quality of the finished product. If there's no impact, a direct-fired furnace is the obvious choice due to its lower cost and higher efficiency. Therefore, selecting a suitable heat source is crucial, and careful material selection is essential.

High-speed centrifugal spray dryers are widely used in liquid processing and drying industries. They are suitable for producing powdered or granular solid products from solutions, emulsions, suspensions, and pastes. Therefore, spray drying is an ideal process when the particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density, and particle shape of the finished product must meet precise standards.


Horizontal Gas-Fired Hot Air Furnace Product Introduction: The RYL series oil-fired hot air furnace (horizontal gas-fired hot air furnace) uses fuel oil burned in a burner to produce high-temperature gas. The heat from this high-temperature gas is transferred to the heated air using a hot air furnace with enhanced heat exchange measures. After heat dissipation, the gas cools to 250°C before being released into the atmosphere. The air to be heated is forcefully fed into the hot air furnace by an optional blower, absorbs heat, and rises to its rated temperature before being discharged from the hot air outlet.

Horizontal Gas-Fired Hot Air Furnace Principle:

Fuel is burned in a burner, producing high-temperature flue gas. The heat from this flue gas is transferred to the air to be heated by the hot air furnace, which has enhanced heat exchange measures. After heat dissipation, the temperature of the high-temperature gas decreases to below 250℃ and is discharged into the atmosphere by a blower. The air to be heated is forcefully fed into the hot air furnace by an optional blower, absorbs heat, and rises to its rated temperature before being discharged from the hot air outlet. When the hot air temperature reaches the upper limit of the rated temperature, the burner will automatically stop combustion or switch to a small flame. When the hot air temperature drops to the lower limit of the set temperature, the burner will restart operation or switch to a large flame. The heating rate can be adjusted by the air valve.
