Application of electric heat tracing in oxalic acid production
Leave a message
Oxalic acid crystals have a melting point of 101.1 °C, readily sublime (initial sublimation temperature is 100 °C), and decompose at 157 °C. At high temperatures, the decomposition rate of oxalic acid accelerates, potentially leading to a decline in product performance. Therefore, in oxalic acid production, the temperature must be controlled below 157 °C.
The application of electric heating in oxalic acid production mainly focuses on maintaining stable temperatures during the production process, ensuring production efficiency and product quality. The specific applications of electric heating in oxalic acid production are as follows:
Reactor Temperature Control:
In the reactor for oxalic acid production, electric heating can be used to maintain the required reaction temperature. Precise temperature control of the reactor allows for optimization of the oxalic acid production rate and product selectivity.
Prevention of Crystallization and Blockage:
Oxalic acid crystallizes at 101.1 °C, leading to pipe blockage. By wrapping electric heating tape around the pipes, sufficient heat can be provided to prevent oxalic acid crystallization, keeping the pipes clear and thus improving production efficiency.
Preheating and Insulation:
In oxalic acid production, raw materials or intermediates require preheating. Electric heat tracing systems can quickly and evenly provide the necessary heat, ensuring that materials reach the required temperature before entering the reactor.
Similarly, for intermediate or final products requiring insulation, electric heat tracing prevents heat loss and maintains temperature stability during transportation and storage.
Improved Product Quality:
Temperature is one of the key factors affecting the quality of oxalic acid products. Precise temperature control through electric heat tracing systems can reduce the formation of byproducts and improve the purity and yield of oxalic acid.
