One concern with infusions is that blood or IV solutions can be too cold for the body. Patients can experience hypothermia during blood transfusions, where more than 50% of their blood is replaced. IV bags may also require heating during non-operative and surgical periods. These bags are heated to a temperature more readily tolerated by the body. This device may have a tube through which fluid or blood flows while being heated, or a second tube may be placed within the first tube. FPC flexible heaters create an optimal environment in incubators. Neonatal incubators are often found in hospitals. Incubators provide a closed, sterilized environment for infants who are premature, ill, or have subnormal blood pressure. The incubator environment allows babies' internal organs to fully develop, allowing them to successfully live without the need for medical equipment.

To maintain a suitable, stable temperature in the incubator, flexible polycarbonate (FPC) heaters are used. These heaters are integrated into the device, preventing the baby from direct contact with the heating element. The temperature can be continuously controlled and adjusted, ensuring the baby's comfort.

For applications in constant temperature environments, FPC heaters offer a relatively mature heating solution. PTC heating sheets or STC heating films are also used in the medical industry, meeting some of the constant temperature requirements.
