Common Troubleshooting Methods for Grain Dryers

Grain dryers are a set of systematic engineering, and it is inevitable that some sudden failures will occur during long-term continuous operation. Whether the failures can be correctly eliminated at the time of occurrence will affect the normal operation of the equipment and the safety of personnel and equipment. Here are some correct ways to handle common faults:
1. The tower body and grain discharge mechanism of the grain dryer are blocked. This kind of accident can cause serious consequences, and if not eliminated in a timely manner, it can cause grain to burn and even lead to fire. The root cause of the blockage is that the food has not been properly cleaned and there are too many impurities. It is necessary to strengthen the cleaning of grain, ensure the effective work of cleaning equipment, and regularly clean the tower.
2. Grain discoloration and fire accidents. The cause of the accident was a partial blockage of grain inside the tower, resulting in poor grain circulation. Local non flowing or slow flowing grains can produce burnt paste particles under the long-term action of high-temperature drying media. Impurities that have not been cleaned up are excessively concentrated under the influence of automatic classification, and are prone to ignition and combustion under the long-term action of high-temperature drying media. The elimination method is to strengthen the management of cleaning equipment to ensure smooth flow of grain from the tower.
3. When the grain dryer catches fire, the following operations should be carried out immediately:
1) Implement emergency shutdown of the grain dryer and close the main gates of all fans;
2) The hot blast furnace shall be temporarily shut down. Turn off the blower and grate motor, open all furnace doors, dampers, and gates on the hot air stove, add coal to suppress fire, and maintain the hot air blower in operation to reduce the temperature of the furnace and heat exchanger.
3) Open the emergency grain discharge port to discharge grain and burning fire.
4) Clean up the residual fire in the dryer, analyze the cause and promptly handle it before starting the machine.
5) It is strictly prohibited to pour water into the tower to avoid cracking the tower body and completely damaging the drying tower.
4. The grain dryer leaks air. This is due to the unsealing of the pipe connections. If there is leakage of drying medium from the top of the tower, it is due to the thin upper grain layer and the hot wind blowing through, and the grain feeding speed is lower than the grain discharging speed. In case of any of the above situations, it is necessary to handle them in a timely manner, strengthen the sealing work or adjust the feeding speed.
