Electric heating solves the problem of caustic soda freezing and blocking
Leave a message
Caustic soda, chemical name sodium hydroxide (NaOH), is mostly used for cleaning highly corrosive substances in the petrochemical industry or as a catalyst. In the production process, caustic soda is in liquid state, and the general temperature needs to be maintained at 30~38℃. This temperature range can keep the liquid caustic soda non-sticky. Temperatures below this range will cause pipe blockage or failure to output in the tank, reducing the efficiency of the production process. If the temperature exceeds 55℃, the carbon steel pipeline of liquid caustic soda that has not been subjected to stress heat treatment will become brittle. Even if the carbon steel pipeline has been subjected to stress heat treatment, it cannot exceed 95℃. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately control the temperature of the production process. Electric heating has been widely used as an effective antifreeze and insulation solution for pipelines. Its working principle is to emit a certain amount of heat through the heating medium, and to supplement the loss of the heated pipeline through direct or indirect heat exchange, so as to achieve the production process requirements of heating, insulation or antifreeze. Its automatic management characteristics are also in line with the development trend of unmanned management in today's era.
If we use electric heating cables to wrap the caustic soda storage tanks and pipelines, and then add an insulation layer on the outer layer, the working temperature of the electric heating cables can be controlled between 40 and 45°C through the temperature controller, so that the medium in the pipelines and tanks, that is, caustic soda, is maintained between 30 and 38°C, and the caustic soda in the production process is kept in a liquid state. We recommend that users choose to use constant power or self-limiting temperature electric heating cables with a braided explosion-proof layer, and choose polytetrafluoroethylene (FEP) or fusible polytetrafluoroethylene (PFA) materials for the outer sheath to prevent caustic soda from corroding the electric heating cables. The purpose of doing this is to save costs and achieve a good heating temperature effect. Before installation, it is also necessary to calculate the heat loss of the caustic soda pipelines and storage tanks, and design a complete installation plan.
