Infrared heating

Infrared heating utilizes infrared radiation to radiate objects. After absorbing infrared radiation, the object converts the radiation energy into thermal energy and is heated.

Infrared is an electromagnetic wave. In the solar spectrum, being outside the red end of visible light is an invisible form of radiation energy. In the electromagnetic spectrum, the wavelength range of infrared is between 0.75 and 1000 microns, and the frequency range is 3 × 10~4 × Between 10 hertz. In industrial applications, the infrared spectrum is often divided into several bands: 0.75-3.0 microns are in the near-infrared region; 3.0-6.0 microns are in the mid infrared region; 6.0-15.0 microns are in the far infrared region; 15.0-1000 microns are in the extremely far infrared region.

Electric infrared heating

Electric infrared heating is actually a special form of resistance heating, which uses materials such as tungsten, iron nickel, or nickel chromium alloy as radiators to create a radiation source. After being electrified, thermal radiation is generated due to the heating of its resistance. There are three commonly used electric infrared heating radiation sources: lamp type (reflective type), tube type (quartz tube type), and plate type (planar type). Lamp type is an infrared light bulb that uses tungsten wire as the emitter, sealed in a glass shell filled with inert gas, similar to a regular lighting bulb.

Due to the strong penetration ability of infrared, it is easy to be absorbed by objects, and once absorbed by objects, it immediately transforms into thermal energy; The application of infrared heating has developed rapidly due to its low energy loss before and after heating, easy temperature control, and high heating quality.

Medium heating

Dielectric heating utilizes high-frequency electric fields to heat insulation materials. The main heating object is the dielectric. When a dielectric is placed in an alternating electric field, it will be repeatedly polarized (the phenomenon of equal but opposite polarity charges appearing on its surface or inside under the action of an electric field), thereby converting the electrical energy in the electric field into thermal energy.

The frequency of the electric field used for medium heating is very high. In the medium, short, and ultra short wave bands, frequencies ranging from several hundred kHz to 300 MHz are referred to as high-frequency medium heating. If they reach the microwave band above 300 MHz, they are referred to as microwave medium heating. Usually, high-frequency medium heating is carried out in the electric field between the two plates; Microwave medium heating is carried out under the radiation field of waveguides, resonators, or microwave antennas.
