How does PTFE wire perform in high-temperature aging?

According to our previous background on temperature resistance test and compatibility assessment of PTFE insulated wires for hot runner system, PTFE wires exhibit excellent overall high temperature aging performance, which is fully adaptable to the long term high temperature conditions of hot runner systems:

Performance in normal working condition: PTFE insulation layer can work stably for thousands of hours during continuous operation at 260℃ with insulation resistance and tensile strength attenuation rates below 20%, almost no drift of dielectric constant, and no abnormal increase of distributed capacitance of hot runner system.

Performance in difficult working circumstances: It can tolerate short periods of high temperature shocks of 320℃ without insulation melting or cracking failure, and can cope with occasional over-temperature conditions in hot-runner systems.

Aging limitations: PTFE will steadily leak trace amounts of hazardous gasses and the mechanical strength will gradually diminish when running in high temperature environment for a long length of time, finally the insulating layer will become brittle and cracks. Therefore, the working temperature of hot runner should be closely controlled below 260℃.

This performance completely meets the criteria of long-term high-temperature operation of hot runners and is the ideal insulated wire in the hot runner situation.
