How Long is the High-Temperature Aging Life of PTFE Conductors?

In the preceding discussion of temperature resistance and high temperature aging properties of PTFE insulated conductors for hot runners, it was concluded the high temperature aging life of PTFE conductors is directly and significantly associated to the actual operating temperature:

At rated working temp 260℃: Industrial grade PTFE conductors comply with UL758 standards, and may reach a continuous high-temperature aging life of 8000~12000 hours, fully satisfying the regular long-term operation needs of hot runners.

At 300 degrees Celsius over temperature of operation: The aging life is severely reduced to 500~1000 hours, the insulation layer soon becomes brittle, the dielectric constant changes greatly, and the dispersed capacitance of the hot runner is abnormally increased.

The working temperature is low (200℃), the aging life can reach more than 30000 hours, and there is almost no substantial performance loss during long-term operation.

Provided that the hot runner operating temperature is consistently regulated below 260℃, the high temperature aging life of PTFE conductors can fully meet the equipment long-term usage requirements.
