How Long Does It Take to Cool After Regenerating Color-Changing Silica Gel?
Leave a message
After the color-changing silica gel has been regenerated, it should be cooled for 30-60 minutes. It will naturally drop to room temperature inside the oven. Do not cool suddenly as this may harm the micro porous structure.
1. Cooling Time and Operational Procedures
Standard Duration: After oven is turned off, let the oven stand at least 30-60 minutes to cool at a constant rate.
Key Operating Points:
Immediately turn the power off after baking.
Do not open the oven door. Leave the oven door closed and allow the leftover heat to cool it down gradually.
Seal and store within 5 minutes after cooling to avoid further moisture absorption.
Real Test Suggestion: After heating at 110℃, it can drop down to below 60℃ in 30 minutes and basically reach room temperature in 60 minutes.
2. Why Does It Have to Cool Down Naturally? Description of the risk
Collapse of micropores Nonuniform contraction of the silica framework due to rapid cooling causes rupture of some micropores.
Particle Cracking Surface particle cracking caused by high temperature gradients reduces the adsorption effectiveness.
Performance Loss: Incorrectly forced cooling might diminish adsorption capacity by 10-15%.
Special Reminder: Do not use water cooling, forced cooling with airflow or direct cold air.
3. Important Steps After Cooling: Seal Up Quick
Seal immediately in aluminium foil self-sealing bags or food storage containers with sealing strips;
Add a little new desiccant to help moisture prevention and extend effective time;
It's a good idea to tag "Regeneration Date" and "Number of Regenerations" for easy lifespan management.
